This is my first experience with kevlar thread and I am simply amazed. I’m sure I’m not surprising anyone when I mention that it is incredible how strong this thread is, but I have to say it anyway. It’s *astonishingly* strong. It opens up lots of interesting possibilities. So thin as to be nearly invisible, it’s the perfect thing for, say, hanging art or lighting from a ceiling. Used in other crafts, especially when blended in with other materials, it can greatly improve the durability of your work without having an overbearing presence in color, texture, or performance. For example, I made a thin cord by mixing 50% nylon, 25% polyester and 25% kevlar thread. The result is very tangle resistant, soft and supple, and just *freaky* strong. Very very impressed.

I bought this black thread to use as rigging and control thread for smaller models and it is just great for that purpose. It is more than strong enough with almost no stretch and, most importantly, is very smooth with almost no fuzz to spoil the illusion. It looks a lot more realistic than the yellow thread I had previously been using and trying to darken.
