Great music & perfect for the video. I too bring home far too many machines that have been neglected; particularly when I hear someone will be tossing them into the landfill. People just don’t understand that NOW is the time to teach the next generation what gold there is in these beautiful vintage machines & learning to make things for yourself. Bravo to all who teach sewing techniques on the internet & classes to youth!. Schools are dropping home-ec all over. Help kids if? you can.
Hi Brian, Not seen this one before, very nice!! like the Pfaff Black 60 and that Singer MONSTER industrial!! and the old Necchi of course!!! Yes, youre right “do the right thing” – how can? people abandon these beauties!! Everyhome should have (at least!!!) one!! – Guess who???
My favourite machine, a Montgomery Ward (I think it’s a Japanese clone like your blue Dressmaker) came from the Goodwill. I only had to replace the power cord, which was damaged. $14! I make my kids’ Halloween costumes & dance outfits with it.
My vintage metal Brother that’s about to? go in for an overhaul? I found it by the side of the road! In the rain! (It’s fine.) Couldn’t believe someone had abandoned the poor thing like that. It’s beautiful and I’ll cherish it.
@waterfallz01 That White (pic #3) is a 764 and I have one that is as perfect as any machine I ever saw. A very solid and sleak machine with style and? lines like an old Buick and chrome. Pretty powerful too. I’m fitting mine to a 1938 solid mahogany desk with a “Gozilla” or wrinkle finish White in it.
I saw a perfect Modern Home today with the most beautiful blue metalic paint on it. The cabinet was falling apart but? the machine was awesome except for the motor that didn’t match the color. I have about 30 machines now but no metalic blue Modern Home. It’s only a straight stitcher or I would have bought it.
Just got done fixing a 29k72 singer, and just got back from Iowa with a 144w204 that’s all gummed up and has a crack in it, a little clean up and a quick weld, and I bet she’ll be running by early? next week!!!!!! it is a addiction! but hey a sewing machine to me is a work of art in it self!!!
I love this video! It really expresses the sadness I feel when I see abandoned and unloved vintage sewing machines at local? thrift stores. Please, do the right thing and save these machines!

In? our larges thrift store, I’ve never seen a foot pedal and/or power cord with any of their sewing machines. I think they throw them away!
